The DJing arm of influential UK techno artists 808 State, also known as “The Spinmasters”, have been guiding the development of British techno for the last two decades.

Intimately associated with landmark Manchester dance institutions, Eastern Bloc Records, The Hacienda and other clubs like Konspiracy and The Thunderdome, 808 play as both a live act and as a dj’ing team at festivals and special events, bringing their old-school nous and grasp of modern and classic techno to appreciative and knowledgeable crowds.

With a hugely impressive back catalogue in their arsenal, comprising both classic albums and singles, 808 State shaped much of the sound and influences of Northern Acid House in the early days, their collective endeavours inspiring Aphex Twin, Warp Records and most techno artists.

Their Sunset Radio show which took tracks straight from Eastern Bloc also became the stuff of legend, becoming bootlegged extensively in the UK and abroad, with Graham Massey once hearing a show in a shoe store in Miami.

808 State still carry the decadent spirit that defined those ground-breaking early times and tunes and continue to push the boundaries of current techno and dance music in keeping with their deserved reputation as UK acid house pioneers.
