An early export of the much admired Nottingham club scene, Allister Whitehead has become one of the most successful UK house DJs by virtue of his musical tastes, hard work, effort, affability and some might say boyish charms. Taking on classic US garage vocals and dubs along with the cream of European house music, his style has always held wide appeal and it is not entirely surprising that his first gigs were opening up for Graeme Park, aged 17, at The Kool Kat.

When James Baillie came to open the now legendary Balearic emporium Venus in the city, Allister was handed his first residency and one that was to begin to raise his profile across the UK. An early doors regular at The Haçienda, he then became resident at FAC51 in the early nineties, replacing Mike Pickering on Friday nights and then went on to helm the biggest Northern nights like Golden and Cream before gaining a nationwide reputation at London’s Ministry Of Sound which then led to much international touring across Europe, Asia and Australia.

A hardy perennial of the huge selling Fantazia compilations across the Nineties, Allister also undertook some production work such as producing Gala’s top five hit 'Freed From Desire' and remixing the likes of Martha Wash but it was only more recently, producing tracks for Mark Knight’s Toolroom Knights, that Allister came into his own as a respected, fully fledged house producer.
