Ralph is best known as the original resident DJ at the legendary Back To Basics club in Leeds. This has now become one of the most famous clubs on the planet. Lawson played the very first record there and implemented the classic long sets that became his trademark.

Always unique his style has developed over the years to become what is know worldwide as the 2020sound, giving reference to the label he created in 1995 which has also gone on to be one of the very best electronic music labels in the world.From the late 90s, “the Uk’s best kept secret was out” and requests to tour came in from all over the world. Never one to give into fashion he has stayed true to the spirit of House Music with always a cutting electro funk edge. Since 2003 he has been working with the 2020Soundsystem live project and touring the world.

Ralph worked alongside partner Carl Finlow to formulate their unique sound that formed the basis of the internationally acclaimed electronic music label-2020Vision and they have well over 40 productions under their belts but are best known for their work with Blaze, spanning four productions including the best selling “Lovelee Dae”, quoted as being, “one of the greatest vocal house records ever released” (Bill Brewster-Last Night a DJ saved My Life).

Ralph teamed up with Detroit’s Chez Damier to create The Chuggles project, which also spawned some classic house moments and has worked alongside Fat Boy Slim, Jamiroquai, Felix da Housekat, Ashley Beedle, Soldiers of Twilight, Arthur Baker, Swag, Supermen Lovers, Jori Hulkonnen, Peace Divison, Dirt Crew, Prophets of Sound and Josh Wink. Carl departed to Paris in 2002 and Ralph has since been devoting his production time to developing the 2020soundsystem and DJ.
