Factory Records perennials, Section 25, are to release their
all new 'Invicta' EP on the label on 3 October 2011

With humanizer’s 'This Tiny Universe' launch gig under our belt - and the EP released to good reactions - plus the Richie G originals and remixes also out, Haçienda Records is delighted to formally announce that Factory Records perennials, Section 25, are to release their all new 'Invicta' EP on the label on 3 October 2011, tying into their gig at Factory 251 later that week on Saturday 8 October.

With two new electro influenced tracks, the 'Invicta' EP marks the first output from Section 25 since the passing of Larry Cassidy and the band deciding to carry on in his absence. Displaying a sharp of style and musical excellence, both tracks build on Section 25’s influences and carry them forward in a uniquely tuneful yet modern treatement of their heritage.

Tracklisting:

1 Colour, Movement, Sex and Violence (song mix 3:22)
2 Inner Drive (chaos mix 4:56)
3 Colour, Movement, Sex and Violence (alternative mix 3:56)
4 Inner Drive (song mix 3:48)

Originally formed in in 1978, Section 25 quickly gathered an enthusiastic and highly devoted fan base both in the North West and further afield. Two years later, in 1980, they released their first single on Factory Records and their early producers included the likes of Ian Curtis and Martin Hannett.

The singles, some of which made the charts, such as ‘Girls Don’t Count’, ‘Charnel Ground’, ‘The Beast’, and club hit ‘Looking From A Hilltop’ received rave reviews from the music press and fans alike.

The band’s most popular album on Factory Records ‘From The Hip’ was released in 1984, and then ‘Love And Hate’ followed in 1988. The band then went mysteriously silent during Nineties, although all of the albums were reissued, until 2006 when the band regrouped and toured Europe.

With the tour being exceptionally well received, the band then decided to record a new album, named ‘Retrofit’, featuring vocal’s by Larry Cassidy’s daughter, Bethany. However just before the album was released, a sad loss hit the Section 25 camp, as lead singer and co-founder member Larry Cassidy passed away in January 2010. ‘Retrofit’ was released in dedication to his memory and the band mulled over the future of Section 25.

It was decided that the band should carry on with Bethany as vocalist and October 2011 sees the first EP of all new material being released on Peter Hook’s new imprint, 'Haçienda Records'. The 'Invicta' EP will be released on Monday 3 October on this site, followed by a wider release across iTunes, Amazon, Beatport, and other major download / streaming sites on Monday 17 October. A tour accompanying the release has been announced with dates in the UK, America and Belgium.
