Our second Haçienda Chester presents a genuine musical legend at the decks on the night at The Laugh Inn as Peter Hook (Joy Division / New Order / The Haçienda) headlines the event bringing his selection of rare bootlegs and edits, classic and modern dance and much more besides.

Hooky has travelled the world DJing at Haçienda events and will be ably assisted by another DJing legend from the Northern Scene, Kelvin Andrews who started out in Candyflip before making his name at Golden in Stoke and becoming one of the most in demand DJs on the Balearic circuit. Along with his musical partner Danny Spencer, Kelvin was one half of hugely successful outfit “Sure Is Pure” whose Doobie Brothers “Long Train Running” was a UK hit in 1993 and also remixed the likes of Sister Sledge, Aretha Franklin and Blueboy’s “Remember Me”. Both Danny and Kelvin now record as the highly respected “Soul Mekanik” and have a new label and club night “Wonk” in their hometown of Stafford.

Both Hooky and Kelvin hold hugely important links in the story of British House music and will be playing sets of classic and modern tunes in the main room while Sonny Woods and his Planet of the Breaks crew hosting the back room playing a well chosen selection of Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Reggae and Disco.

The first Haçienda Chester event was a near sell out and considered one of the town's best nights of 2011 so be advised to book early for this special night.
